VENEZUELA / RUSSIA – The governments of Venezuela and Russia signed an agreement on a work plan for the implementation of the Programme of Cooperation between the sports ministries of the two countries, as reported by teleSUR, a partner of TV BRICS.
Venezuelan deputy foreign minister for European affairs Franklin Ramirez indicated on his official social media account that youth and sports minister Mervyn Maldonado and his Russian counterpart Oleg Matytsin were present at the signing.
“This agreement will enable us to strengthen the training of our golden generation,” said the vice foreign minister.
Russia was represented at the ceremony by Aleksey Morozov, deputy minister of sport, Sergei Melik-Bagdasarov, ambassador to Venezuela, and members of the Russian delegation taking part in the 5th ALBA Games (Bolivarian Alliance for the Americas Games) taking place in the South American country.
Russia, as a guest nation at the fifth ALBA Games, brought a delegation of 96 athletes. Until the end of April, our athletes will take part in table tennis, boxing, rhythmic gymnastics, trampoline, weightlifting and beach volleyball competitions.
