St Lucia to strengthen ties with Venezuela

CASTRIES, St Lucia – Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Philip Pierre, in a meet and greet the Venezuelan delegation in Saint Lucia said, “its’ nice to be among friends, once more”… He further stated: “ We look forward to exciting times and rejoining the institutions that Venezuela had set up for the region. We appreciate their generosity …”

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela delegation comprised Raúl Licausi deputy minister of foreign affairs, ambassador to CARICOM, the OECS and the OAS and Leiff Escalona private assistant and former ambassador to Saint Lucia.

Prime minister Philip Pierre, “affirmed that his administration will work towards reinstating and strengthening the traditional friendly relationship between Saint Lucia and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela,” and confirmed, “his government’s position on Venezuela will be consistent with the official position of CARICOM of non-interference in the internal affairs of a sovereign state.”
