CASTRIES, St Lucia – The prime minister of Saint Lucia, Allen Chastanet continues to exhibit gross incompetence and in some circles considered a heartless disregard for the health and safety; and economic viability of the people of Saint Lucia.
On Sunday, January 31, a release, from the office of the prime minister, said: “in an effort to continue to manage the COVID-19 pandemic in Saint Lucia the existing protocols will continue until Wednesday, February 3, 2021.
On January 31, the latest 10-day COVID-19 protocols were set to expire. Citizens awaited an “update to the nation” but instead were shocked by images of the prime minister campaigning in Choiseul in violation of COVID-19 protocols,”

Citation and commencement
- This Order may be cited as the COVID-19 (Prevention and Control) (Prohibition of Assembly) (No. 1) (Amendment) Order, 2021.
Replacement of section 3
- The COVID-19 (Prevention and Control) (Prohibition of Assembly) (No. 1) Order, No. 11 of 2021 is amended by deleting section 3 and replacing with the following —

St Lucia break records with 216 COVID-19 cases, related deaths #14 & 15
Meantime, prime minister Chastanet address to the nation is schedule for 06:00 pm Tuesday, to announce what Saint Lucians already know, “new and existing protocols and the administrations miserable response to COVID-19,” there are calls for his resignation.
On Tuesday, February 2, 2021, the Ministry of Health and Wellness (MOH) recorded 68 new cases of COVID-19 and the island 16th COVID related death – a 61-year-old male from Castries district with “multiple underlying illnesses.”
The sample period ranges from January 22, 2021, to January 31, 2021. The total number of active cases in the country is 749. The total number of cases diagnosed in the country to date stands at 1470.
