WASHINGTON, USA – The 52nd General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS) will be held in Lima, Peru, from October 5 to 7 this year, the Permanent Council decided March 23.
The General Assembly is the supreme organ of the Organization of American States. All member states are represented by their delegations, generally headed by the minister of foreign affairs.
The General Assembly is responsible for defining the mandates, actions, policies and mechanisms that the Organization implements throughout the year.
Peru previously hosted the main annual meeting of the OAS in 2010 and 1997.
