In August, the government of Grenada said it will align the strategic priorities of the 2020 budget with the goals of the National Sustainable Development Plan. The specific goals of the national plan are High Human and Social Development: putting people at the centre of sustainable development and transformation; vibrant, dynamic, competitive economy with supporting climate and disaster resilient infrastructure and environmental sustainability and security.
Dr Mitchell continued: “The National Sustainable Development Plan will put in place a systematic and comprehensive framework to guide Grenada’s strategic priorities for balanced, inclusive and sustainable development over the medium term and it will simultaneously lay a solid foundation for Grenada’s transformation over the long term.”
Dr Mitchell said government recognises that there is much work to be done to advance its sustainable development agenda and to build resilience, therefore the plan will serve as anchor of the country’s development agenda for the period, 2020 to 2035.

Range Developments is an international property developer focusing on high-end hotel resorts in the Caribbean that are well-designed, sustainable and desirable. As with other Range Developments’ projects, investors will be able to participate in the project, and if eligible, apply for citizenship in Grenada.
Construction of the Six Senses La Sagesse is expected to start by the end of this year and completion is expected in 2022. The project is expected to create more than 500 jobs during the construction phase.
Tourism Minister, Clarice Modeste-Curwen, and Minister for Trade, Industry, Cooperatives and CARICOM Affairs, Oliver Joseph, have also welcomed and have already termed Six Senses La Sagesse a historic project.
Speaking at the launch of Six Sense, managing director of Range Developments, Mohammed Asaria, referenced the transformational nature of the project and the potential for St David’s to become Grenada’s second tourism capital; promising to create the unimaginable at La Sagesse, celebrated developments in Grenada’s tourism industry in recent years.
“Grenada’s tourism product has grown by leaps and bounds in a manner that cannot be compared to other islands in the Eastern Caribbean. Grenada is a beacon and prime minister Mitchell should be proud of his achievements,” Asaria said.
