By Caribbean News Global fav

US / PARIS – United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai today held a productive conversation with France minister-delegate for foreign trade and economic attractiveness Franck Riester, US Trade Representative Press Office announced.

Ambassador Tai began the meeting by affirming the importance and strength of US-French cooperation on a wide range of important issues, including working together to promote trade policies that ensure American and French workers face fair competition in the global economy.

“They discussed the domestic tools on both sides of the Atlantic to address the challenges from non-market economies, the large civil aircraft framework and the global arrangement on steel and aluminum trade. Ambassador Tai also highlighted the importance of eliminating forced labor from global supply chains,” US Trade Representative Press Office, added. “Ambassador Tai and minister-delegate Riester discussed the important work of the US-EU Trade and Technology Council, the need for reform of the World Trade Organization (WTO), including its dispute settlement system, and reaching a meaningful conclusion of the fisheries subsidies negotiations.”

The US and France trade representatives “ agreed to stay in regular communication in the months to come, continuing the series of engagements they have had since last fall.”
