TCB announce departure of CEO Miles Mercera

KRALENDIJK, Bonaire – Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB) expressed support and best wishes as they announce that Miles B. M. Mercera, who has served as CEO since 2021.

“Mercera will be stepping down from his position as of the end of 2024. The important initiatives and business of tourism will continue its forward momentum with Mercera remaining committed to TCB during the remainder of the year,” says TCB News Flash, Friday, July 19, 2024.

Mercera shared:

“It is with mixed feelings that we announce my departure. I am grateful for the trust and opportunity I have been given these past few years. As you can imagine, it wasn’t an easy decision to leave the organization or the accomplished team I feel so grateful to have worked alongside. My time with the TCB was focused on very specific deliverables for the tourism sector which we have seen to fruition such as the launch of the new destination branding titled It’s in our Nature, introduction of the Visitor Entry Tax, Data driven marketing strategy and Air service accomplishments. The timing seemed right to pursue other avenues and allow a successor to share a new vision or approach. My focus in the next few months lies on a smooth transition period and to finalize projects such as the 2025 Action Plan, the launch of JetBlue and Corendon, the Tourism Summit in September 2024, and the execution of the 2024 Regatta Festival.”

The board of directors of TCB and BHM will initiate the process of finding a successor to fill the role, over the upcoming months. The board expresses its profound gratitude for the outstanding contributions and leadership demonstrated by Mercera throughout his tenure from 2021 to 2024.
