Qatar and the United Arab Emirates restore diplomatic ties

WASHINGTON, USA – The United States welcomes and congratulates Qatar and the United Arab Emirates on their resumption of diplomatic representation and reopening embassies, says a US Department of State press statement Monday.

“This is another important step forward among our Gulf Cooperation Council partners to promote regional stability and mutual cooperation,” Matthew Miller, US Department of State, said. “The United States is fully committed to working with the GCC and other regional partners to build a more secure, integrated, peaceful, and prosperous Middle East region.”
