WASHINGTON, USA – The new Permanent Representative of Peru to the Organization of American States (OAS), Harold Forsyth, presented his credentials Wednesday to OAS secretary general Luis Almagro in a virtual ceremony.
During the ceremony, secretary-general Almagro highlighted the work of the Peruvian diplomatic corps at the Organization. “Peru has always had an outstanding presence and proactive activity in favor of the pillars of the Organization,” said secretary-general Almagro.
For his part, the Permanent Representative of Peru, Harold Forsyth, recalled that Peru is a founding member of the OAS and paid tribute to the work done by his predecessors. “Peru has a link to the Inter-American system or Pan-Americanism that goes back to the 19th century. I am very honored to follow in the tradition of great Peruvian diplomats who have held this permanent representation,” Ambassador Forsyth added.
In addition to his diplomatic posts, ambassador Forsyth has also served as a member of Congress.
