New ambassador of El Salvador presents credentials

WASHINGTON, USA – The new Permanent Representative of El Salvador to the Organization of American States (OAS), Agustín Vásquez, presented his credentials to secretary-general Luis Almagro.

The Permanent Representative of El Salvador highlighted his country’s commitment to multilateralism. “Combating poverty, exclusion, inequality, the lack of education and employment, are commitments in which my country joins its voice and effort with those of all the nations of the hemisphere,” added ambassador Vásquez.

Secretary-General Almagro highlighted the capacity for dialogue and negotiation of the new Permanent Representative of El Salvador. “Ambassador Vásquez, we know you are a person of constructive dialogue, we hope that the work dynamics of the Organization will benefit from your knowledge and diplomatic skills,” said secretary-general Almagro.

El Salvador is one of the 21 founding members of the OAS.
