Homes for our troops 3rd annual veteran’s day celebrity eBay auction

TAUNTON, Massachusetts, – Homes For Our Troops (HFOT), a non-profit that builds and donates specially adapted custom homes for severely injured post-9/11 Veterans, announces its Veterans Day Celebrity eBay Auction campaign line-up.

Jake Tapper, George Clooney, and Wynonna Judd are among the notable celebrities teaming up to support HFOT’s mission. In partnership with eBay for Charity, bidding for this special online event goes live on November 7, 2019, and closes on November 17, 2019, at www.eBay.com/hfot. There will be a special pre-auction event for two VIP tickets to the Charlie’s Angels world premiere in Los Angeles, which will begin on October 27. All of the proceeds will benefit HFOT.

Participants can make an impact by bidding on once-in-a-lifetime experiences, luxury items, and autographed memorabilia from various movie stars, musicians, and sports figures, while helping HFOT’s mission to build and donate specially adapted custom homes for severely injured post-9/11 Veterans.

CNN’s Jake Tapper, a longtime HFOT supporter and mission ambassador, along with actor George Clooney, have enlisted the help of friends, namely movie stars and entertainment icons, to arrange an extensive assortment of auction items up for grabs to benefit HFOT’s Veterans Day.

The VIP experiences include spending an afternoon with Tapper and Paul Rudd over lunch in New York City; two VIP tickets to Matt Damon’s new movie Stillwater and a meet and greet; tickets to a Wynonna Judd concert with a meet and greet; and lunch with Colin Hanks and the cast of the HBO’s Band of Brothers. Tapper’s fellow celebrity auction cohost, actor George Clooney, has generously donated his autographed Omega Seamaster 300 Gold Watch to auction off.

Other celebrities who have donated items include: Ben Stiller, Beth Dover, Bryan Cranston, Chris Evans, Dave Matthews Band, Elizabeth Banks, Jacob Tamme, Jon Bon Jovi, Judd Apatow, Jake Gyllenhaal, Jason Bateman, Mindy Kaling, Paul Rudd, Seth Meyers, Shonda Rhimes, Trevor Noah, Weird Al Yankovic, Whoopi Goldberg, Willie Nelson, and many more.

“It’s an honor to be an ambassador for Homes For Our Troops and to work with the group and eBay on our annual Celebrity Auction again. The event raises awareness and funds for the incredible work Homes For Our Troops does by giving participants the opportunity to bid on experiences and items from their favorite celebrities. We’ve received a great amount of support from well-known stars, musicians, artists, sports figures and more, and hope to make this year’s auction even more of a success.” – Jake Tapper

“Homes For Our Troops is an amazing nonprofit that builds and donates adapted homes to our nation’s most severely injured Veterans. I am honored to take part in the auction again, and I look forward to spreading the word about HFOT’s important mission this Veterans Day,” says George Clooney.

Country music icon Wynonna Judd, who along with Tapper serves as a mission ambassador for HFOT, is lending her star power to the cause as well. “I am truly excited to be a part of this Veterans Day Celebrity Auction and give back to HFOT and our nation’s injured Veterans,” says Judd. “I’ve witnessed this organization change the lives of Veterans and their families for the better through the gift of a specially adapted home, and I’m proud and blessed to help them do even more of their miraculous work through this initiative.”

“We are preparing for another tremendous auction with Jake Tapper and his team,” says HFOT president Tom Landwermeyer. “Partnering with big name celebrities and public figures helps us place a spotlight on the critical need of adapted housing for severely injured post-9/11 Veterans.”

“We are proud to partner with Homes For Our Troops for the third year in a row for their Veterans Day auction,” says Brenda Halkias, general manager of eBay for Charity. “Last year’s auction raised almost $160,000 and this year is bringing even more exciting inventory and experiences from notable celebrity supporters.”
