CASTRIES, St Lucia – Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Philip J. Pierre, on Sunday evening, during an address to the nation, kept his promise that general election would be on a Monday – announced the much-anticipated date for general election – December 1, 2025!
Acting in conjunction, the SLP (Saint Lucia Labour Party) gathered a massive crowd of supporters at The People’s University – the Castries market steps, for the much-anticipated announcement and political meeting.
Governor-General of Saint Lucia Sir Errol Charles, acting on the advice of Prime Minister Pierre, in accordance with the Constitution of Saint Lucia, will dissolve parliament on Monday, November 10, 2025. Nomination day is November 21, 2025!
Now that the die is cast and the writ of general election announced, the political battle lines are fully drawn, and the countdown begins.
The market steps atmosphere reflecting on how far the people and country have progressed, with eyes wide open, are “looking ahead with pride and purpose – ‘Forward Together’ – toward a stronger Saint Lucia for all” – welcomed Prime Minister Pierre’s call to the political battlefield of ideas – 21 days of electioneering, red and yellow hardcore politics.
The SLP previously give an account of their “record of delivery,” on Sunday published and delivered an “Achievement Document” in an atmosphere of celebration – “promises kept and progress delivered.”
At the time of Prime Minister Pierre’s election announcement, the United Workers Party (UWP) was hosting a public meeting in Anse La Raye, “talking solutions.”
“ They cannot read me … I am a mystery,” the Prime Minister said earlier this month.
The UWP on Sunday also scheduled a diaspora meeting in Houston, Texas, featuring Allen Chastanet, as they continue to thread the needle on accountability, GDP, taxes, fuel prices, healthcare, crime, cost of living, while fighting against a VAT-Free Holiday, for ALL Saint Lucians.

The UWP has been acting on external advice and strategy, trusting in the hypothesis that Prime Minister Pierre ” is not yet convinced that the SLP has the political and electoral advantage.”

Saint Lucia’s 11th General Election will be held December 1, 2025!
The voting population in Saint Lucia is pretty much even, subject to a 2 + percentage swing, attached with the middle-of-the-road voters, characterised as former Progressive Labour Party (PLP) comrades.
Saint Lucians are indeed looking for a spirited campaign and results of the general election. This follows National Day, December 13, and subsequent celebrations leading to a joyous and festive Christmas season. Santa Claus came early in 2025!
