Media reporting ‘inaccurate, exaggerated and misleading’ says Range Developments – lawyers instructed

ST GEORGES, Grenada – Last week a burglary took place at La Sagesse in St David’s, Grenada, on the site where Range Developments is building a hotel. The theft of approximately US$50,000 in cash was immediately reported to the local police, and they began investigating the incident.

Range Developments strongly refutes the exaggerated claims from a report in The New Today Grenada that makes a number of inaccurate, exaggerated and misleading allegations, including that the missing money is an attempt to “defraud the insurance”. It categorically rejects the quote of an unnamed police officer that: “[I] am wondering if they ain’t lying in order to claim money from insurance”. The New Today further exaggerates the amount of money that was stolen.

The incident is extremely saddening as a significant portion of this cash was to be distributed to needy causes in Saint David’s as part of Range’s corporate social responsibility outreach program.

Range Developments has instructed its lawyers to pursue all remedies available at law against The New Today Grenada newspaper.

Range Developments takes its reputation extremely seriously and will take all necessary steps to correct falsehoods and protect its hard-won reputation for trust and diligence. The founders of the company are committed to driving forward the highest standards of best practice, regulation, and governance.
