Media Advisory: Austin Bank, Texas N.A. and FHLB Dallas Award $8K to Lufkin Nonprofit

LUFKIN, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Austin Bank, Texas N.A. and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (FHLB Dallas) will award $8,000 in Partnership Grant Program (PGP) funds to Legacy Institute for Financial Education (LIFE), which teaches financial literacy to create economic stability and generational wealth. The funds will be awarded during a ceremonial check presentation on Tuesday, October 11 at the LIFE office. The media is encouraged to attend.

LIFE plans to use the grant proceeds for its Financial Opportunity Center and Next Chapter program to address the needs of residents who have no transportation or have difficulty paying high gas prices because of unemployment or underemployment. It also plans to use proceeds to support the sustainability of its LIFE Skills employment training programs.

FHLB Dallas provides a 3:1 match of up to $12,000 of member contributions to promote and strengthen relationships between community-based organizations and FHLB Dallas members.
