Life Sciences BC Announces Incoming Board of Directors

VANCOUVER, British Columbia–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Life Sciences BC (LSBC) is pleased to announce new and returning members to the Board of Directors, following its Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on September 15th, 2022. The incoming Board of Directors is comprised of leaders within British Columbia’s life sciences community, all of whom are aligned with LSBC’s vision and mission of creating a provincial ecosystem where life sciences and health organizations thrive, while advocating for and promoting the growth of the province’s world-class life sciences industry.

AGM Board Level Announcements

Suzanne Gill (Genome BC, President and CEO) and Bev Holmes (Michael Smith Health Research BC, President and CEO) were elected for three-year terms. Ian Heine (PWC, Partner) was elected for a one-year term.

Jennifer Cudlipp (LifeLabs Medical Laboratory, Chief Operating Officer), Michael Martin (Aurinia Pharmaceuticals, Chief Business Officer and Co-founder) and Anne Stevens (AbCellera, Vice President Business Development) were re-elected for three-year terms.

Joseph Garcia (Blakes, Partner), Hector MacKay-Dunn, K.C. (Farris, Senior Partner), and Roger Kuypers (Fasken, Partner) received renewed one-year appointments as Board Observers.

Rajveer Hundal (PwC, Partner) stepped down from LSBC’s Board, and Pascal Spothelfer (Past President and CEO of Genome BC) having completed two terms on the Board transitioned to a Board Observer.

At the Board Meeting following the AGM, Ali Ardakani (Novateur Ventures, Founder and Managing Director) became the new Chair of the Board of Directors. Scott Phillips (Starfish Medical, Founder and CEO) remains on the Board as Past Chair and Ian Heine became the Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee.
