Integrated Beverage Group Acquires Oregon’s Ransom Wine Co. & Distillery

Purchase Introduces Award-Winning Crafts Spirits to IBG’s Portfolio and Diversifies Wine Offerings

DENVER–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#IBGWines–Integrated Beverage Group (IBG) announced today that it has acquired Ransom Wine Co. & Distillery in Oregon’s Willamette Valley in partnership with Ransom Founder, Tad Seestedt. An award-winning producer of premium handcrafted wines, vermouth, grappa, whiskey and gin, Ransom Wine Co. & Distillery provides Integrated Beverage Group with a well-recognized foothold in the high growth category of craft spirits and solidifies the company as a leader in Oregon wine.

Ransom Spirits is a pioneering and innovative craft distillery that introduced the United States’ first Old Tom Gin and brought the world its first barrel aged Old Tom Gin in modern history. The distillery’s flagship whiskey, “The Emerald” is a groundbreaking authentic recreation of 1800’s whiskies made in Ireland that has garnered top accolades, such as Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and “World’s Best Pot Still Whiskey” from Whisky Magazine.

“We’ve been waiting for the right wine and spirits partner that shares our stance on the importance of transparency, quality and overall purity in production. Furthermore, it was key for us to find a company that not only provided us an entry into the spirits category, but also expanded our wine offerings outside of the traditional Oregon varietals,” said Ari Walker, CEO of Integrated Beverage Group.

IBG values passionate innovators, focused on quality and product purity. Wines from the IBG portfolio are some of the only wines to be certified pesticide-free by the United States Federal Government. Tad Seestedt of Ransom Wine Co. & Distillery shares these same principals. The Ransom company farm has been certified organic since 2011 and all of their vineyard partnerships focus on quality and sustainability. Tad Seestedt will stay on with IBG as the Master Distiller. The agreement includes Ransom Wine Co. & Distillery’s McMinnville tasting room.

Tad Seestedt, Founder of Ransom Wine Co. & Distillery added, “My passion and interest has been primarily for production, both winemaking and distilling, in addition to farming and education. This strategic partnership allows me to fully focus on those particular endeavors and to leverage the strength of IBG’s business management, sales and marketing. It is a mutually beneficial arrangement.”

The transaction closed on February 28 and exact terms were not made public. Zepponi and Company served as the financial advisor to Ransom Distillery and Winery.
