CAGW Praises President Trump for Signing USMCA

WASHINGTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#GovWaste–Today, President Trump signed the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) into law, marking another promise kept and a major legislative victory under his presidency. The USMCA is the strongest trade deal ever among the three countries, and has the potential to boost the U.S. economy by $68.2 billion and create 176,000 new jobs.

Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) President Tom Schatz issued the following statement:

“Today’s signing of the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement by President Trump is a vital upgrade to the 25-year-old North American Free Trade Agreement. The President overcame many obstacles to get this agreement approved by Mexico and Canada, and particularly by Congress. This deal will boost industries across the country, secure intellectual property rights, encourage an open internet marketplace, and strengthen protections for workers and farmers. On behalf of CAGW’s more than one million members and supporters, I would like to thank President Trump for signing this essential agreement into law.”

Citizens Against Government Waste is the nation’s largest nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating waste, fraud, abuse, and mismanagement in government.
