Adequate sickness benefits to all

GENEVA, Switzerland,  (ILO News) — The COVID-19 crisis  has exposed devastating gaps in social protection coverage in developing countries, and recovery will only be sustained and future crises prevented if they can transform their ad hoc crisis response measures into comprehensive social protection systems, according to a new analysis from the International Labour Organization (ILO).

The COVID-19 health crisis revealed important gaps in terms of entitlements to protection in case of sickness. Sickness benefits are an important part of social health protection to ensure access to health care and income security.
