Canadians Engler and August, Ottawa speaking tour: US – Venezuela-Bolivia-Cuba and Canada: The Geopolitics

OTTAWA, Canada – As part of the International Tour, Yves Engler, and Arnold August, two renowned experts on international issues and Canada’s foreign policy are coming to Ottawa to present their precious insights and analyses on the Canadian government’s actions and policies in Latin America, Thursday, February 27, 2020, at 7 pm at the McNabb Recreation Centre, 180 Percy Street, Ottawa, Ontario:

Yves Engler has been dubbed “one of the most important voices on the Canadian Left today” (Briarpatch), “in the mould of I.F. Stone” (Globe and Mail), “ever-insightful” (Rabble). His books have been praised by Noam Chomsky, Naomi Klein, and William Blum.

He has published ten books, among them:  Left, Right – Marching to the Beat of Imperial Canada; A Propaganda System – How Canada’s Government, Corporations, Media and Academia Sell War and Exploitation and The Black Book of Canadian Foreign Policy. His latest book is House of Mirrors: Justin Trudeau’s Foreign Policy.

Arnold August is a Montreal journalist/author/speaker. He has written three books dealing with the Cuban, Venezuelan and American political systems as well as US-Cuba relations. His articles (in English, French, and Spanish) on Canada-Venezuela and Canada-Cuba relations are published in North America, Europe the Middle East and Latin America/Caribbean.

Don Foreman, Union Representative for the National Executive Committee of CUPW will provide a commentary on Maduro, Evo Morales, and the Canadian Trade Union Movement.

Luis Acuña Cedeño, Chargé d’affaires – Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Ottawa, will attend the meeting to answer questions regarding the Diplomatic Mission of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Canada, its operation and of its diplomats.
