Toronto Pearson announces new partnership to improve guest experience

TORONTO, Canada – Passengers traveling through Toronto Pearson will soon have a faster and easier experience under a new partnership with Montréal-Trudeau International Airport, Calgary International Airport and leading technology provider, SITA. This initiative is a big step forward in helping us reach our passenger experience goals, while executing on our vision for a digitally enabled airport.

SITA will be providing all three airports with their flagship check-in and gate system, including a new generation kiosk, to simplify travel and create a common experience across Canada. The kiosk will allow passengers to check-in and tag their own bags, paving the way for a completely contactless journey for those travelling to, from, and within the country.

The new touchpoints meet and exceed Canadian accessibility requirements and aviation security standards like text-to-speech hardware, navigational keypads, height controls designed for wheelchair, tap and chip and pin payment for in-flight upgrades and biometric cameras for future use. The new touchpoints will also make it easier to incorporate both touchless and biometric capabilities to enable airports to evolve as processes modernize.

SITA will provide Toronto Pearson with operational teams to monitor for any potential bottlenecks in the terminals, improving operational performance, providing efficiencies, and streamlining processes for an effortless guest experience.

Working together with Montreal and Calgary, we’re supporting the recovery of Canada’s broader aviation industry by putting the country at the forefront of innovative technology solutions.

The new systems are on track to start being installed at all three airports by early next year.
