Vista Outdoor PAC Donates $85,000 to Five Nonprofits

The donations, split evenly among the groups, mark the final contribution from Vista Outdoor’s Political Action Committee as the company prepares to separate.

ANOKA, Minn.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–$VSTO #bettertogether–Vista Outdoor Inc. (NYSE: VSTO), the parent company of 41 renowned brands that design, manufacture and market sporting and outdoor products to consumers around the globe, today announced that it will donate $85,000 in unused funds from the Vista Outdoor Political Action Committee (PAC) to five nonprofit organizations. The funds will be split evenly among the Congressional Sportsmen Foundation, National Interscholastic Cycling Association, Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation, American Junior Golf Association, and Council to Advance Hunting and Shooting Sports. These organizations represent a cross-section of the causes Vista Outdoor and its brands have traditionally supported.

Congressional Sportsmen Foundation works with Congress, governors, and state legislatures to protect and advance hunting, angling, recreational shooting and trapping. National Interscholastic Cycling Association develops interscholastic mountain biking programs for student-athletes across the U.S. Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation works to increase participation in recreational boating and fishing, thereby supporting aquatic conservation. American Junior Golf Association is dedicated to the overall growth and development of young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf. And Council to Advance Hunting and Shooting Sports facilitates the promotion and growth of hunting and the shooting sports and the education of the public on the contributions that hunters and shooters make towards wildlife conservation.

“We are honored to support these five organizations, whose missions align with our company’s purpose of bringing people together through the outdoors,” said Fred C. Ferguson, Vice President, Public Affairs and Communications, Vista Outdoor, and Chairman of the Vista Outdoor PAC. “We believe in the power of outdoor experiences — whether it’s cycling, golfing, hunting, boating or fishing — and we hope our contributions will help these organizations continue making a difference in their respective activities and communities.”

The donations mark the final contributions from Vista Outdoor’s PAC, which is closing in light of the previously announced separation of Vista Outdoor into two independent companies. Each company will develop a holistic advocacy model centered on direct engagement with policymakers, philanthropy and trade association involvement.
