VIEDA’s Enterprise Zone Commission launches online portal to streamline client services

ST THOMAS, USVI – The Enterprise Zone Commission (EZC), a division of the Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority (VIEDA) focused on town and neighborhood revitalization initiatives, has launched a new online portal to enhance client services and streamline program participation.

The portal will allow clients to submit applications and upload required supporting documents for EZC programs, servicing them through the entire life cycle of participation—from the initial application process to compliance reviews and the closeout of benefit periods. Beneficiaries can also upload compliance-related documents, ensuring adherence to program requirements once benefits are awarded.

“The Enterprise Zone Commission has taken a major step in making its programs more accessible and efficient for clients,” said Wayne Biggs, Jr., chief executive officer of VIEDA. “This user-friendly portal not only facilitates the application process but also ensures a seamless transition for participants as they move through the compliance and reporting phases of EZC programs.”

Nadine Marchena Kean, managing director of EZC, emphasized the broader impact of the portal by stating:

“We are pleased to introduce a tool that will make doing business with EZC easier for our clients. This portal will also enhance our ability to track, report, and analyze data more efficiently, ensuring greater transparency and accountability.”

EZC administers a variety of tax incentive programs designed to revitalize enterprise zones, stimulate business growth, create jobs, and foster economic activity in areas that were once socially and economically vibrant but are now considered distressed.

The Territory’s enterprise zones include:
