Taipei 101 New Year Fireworks

By Vivian Lee, Director Taipei Economic and Cultural Office, Toronto

TORONTO, Canada – As your TV station is preparing to blend into your local coverage of the New Year Countdown from other parts of the world, Taipei 101, one of the world’s tallest skyscrapers, is also set to present the most exciting fireworks extravaganza to celebrate the advent of the year 2022.

This year’s New Year’s countdown show at the Taipei 101 will fire off 16,000 fireworks over 360 seconds, one of its longest and biggest displays ever. The annual show this year will focus on the theme “Towards a better future,” and will involve animation, music, and a light show in addition to the fireworks.

Taiwan’s TV station CTS has agreed to transmit via satellite feed live coverage of the fireworks show, which will begin at 11:45 p.m. on December 31, Taipei time (10:45 a.m., December 31, Toronto time).

I would like to cordially invite you to join the rest of the major media outlets around the world in broadcasting this event.

Please see Taipei 101 fireworks info for the window of broadcast and activities taking place in Taipei, R.O.C. (Taiwan).
