OAS – The University of Miami to cooperate on projects and academic activities

WASHINGTON, USA – The Organization of American States (OAS) and the University of Miami, on Tuesday, signed an agreement to develop a technical cooperation framework to exchange information, publications, and implement programs, projects and academic activities, among others.

The secretary-general of the OAS, Luis Almagro, highlighted that: “Institutions such as the University of Miami, with its history and achievements, share the main values of our Organization, such as the promotion and defense of democracy, human rights, hemispheric security, integral development and Inter-American law.”

For his part, the president of the University of Miami, Julio Frenk said: “The Organization of American States is the great Inter-American regional organization and one of the tasks of the university is to serve as a bridge for dialogue with decision-makers, and formulators of public policies, and given that we believe this organization will be an ideal vehicle for our communication with all the countries of the Americas.”

The University of Miami is composed of twelve schools and colleges with more than 170,000 undergraduate and graduate students in nearly 350 majors around the world.
