Montclair Place Hosts Back to School Drive to Provide New Athletic Shoes for Children in Need in Partnership with Shoes That Fit

MONTCLAIR, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Montclair Place is partnering with Shoes That Fit, a Claremont, Calif.-based non-profit dedicated to ensuring that children don’t miss school due to a lack of proper fitting shoes.

The back-to-school drive, taking place from July 27 through August 15 at Montclair Place, encourages visitors to stop by Center Court where a giant peg board will display tags providing the first name, gender and shoe size of a child. Visitors purchase athletic shoes for the child described on the tag selected and bring them back to the donation bin in Center Court.

According to Amy Fass, Executive Director of Shoes That Fit, one in five children in the United States live in poverty, and shoes are one of the most expensive items for low-income families to provide.

The team at Montclair Place supports Shoes That Fit’s perspective that proper shoes empower children to participate, in sports and in the classroom. Having good shoes removes one worry for children who may be dealing with many struggles. Please consider helping children in need when preparing kids for the return to school.

Stop by Center Court at Montclair Place:

Monday – Thursday

11A – 8P

Friday – Saturday

11A – 9P

Sunday

11A – 7P
