Caribbean Island speakers invited to World Speech Day

LONDON, England – Speakers from Puerto Rico and the Caribbean are invited to join with speakers throughout the world to celebrate World Speech Day 2025 (WSD) for its 10th anniversary on March 15, 2025, marking a decade of empowering unexpected voices and championing the art of speechmaking worldwide.

Since its inception, WSD has grown into a truly global movement, with events held in over 100 countries, from community halls to iconic institutions, uniting people through the power of words. Puerto Rico has been a great participant in past World Speech Day events.

This milestone year will feature an unprecedented lineup of live and virtual events, amplifying the voices of students, activists, entrepreneurs, and changemakers from all walks of life. The theme for 2025, “Unexpected Voices: 10 Years of Speaking for the World,” reflects WSD’s enduring mission to unlock the potential of public speaking for everyone—not just the privileged few.

“Over the past ten years, World Speech Day has helped shape a global culture where voices from every background, culture, and community can be heard,” said Simon Gibson, founder of World Speech Day. “This anniversary is a celebration of those voices—people whose words have inspired action, challenged ideas, and connected the world in meaningful ways.”

A decade of impact

  • 100+ nations celebrating World Speech Day events annually.
  • Thousands of speeches delivered in schools, universities, NGOs, and workplaces.
  • A digital-enabled approach local, live events amplified by enabling speakers to reach global audiences through livestreams and social media.
  • A growing network of WSD ambassadors and partners dedicated to expanding the reach of speechmaking.

Get involved in WSD 2025

  • Host an event in your school, workplace, or community.
  • Deliver a speech and share your voice with the world.
  • Join the conversation using #WorldSpeechDay on social media.
  • Become a partner and support this global movement.

As World Speech Day embarks on its second decade, its mission remains clear: to amplify voices that are often unheard and inspire change through the power of speech. With growing participation and new partnerships, WSD continues to redefine the landscape of public speaking for future generations.
