CARACAS, Venezuela – The alliance includes projects in digital inclusion and connectivity, artificial intelligence, technological entrepreneurship and water security, as well as initiatives to strengthen the transformation of the state and the protection of strategic ecosystems in the region.

CAF -development bank of Latin America and the Caribbean-, NTT DATA and the NTT DATA Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote projects that integrate NTT DATA’s global technological expertise, NTT DATA Foundation’s social commitment and CAF’s regional knowledge.

The partnership will focus on a wide range of areas critical to the region’s future, with an emphasis on accelerating its digital transformation. Areas of collaboration include digital inclusion and connectivity, fostering digital skills, artificial intelligence (including generative AI) and technology entrepreneurship. The parties will also cooperate in the digital transformation of the state and economies of the region.

Environmental sustainability constitutes another key pillar of the agreement. The parties will explore joint initiatives in areas such as water security – encompassing water and sanitation, drought and flood management – the protection of strategic ecosystems and the development of digital platforms for climate funds.

The collaboration will be materialised through various actions, such as the exchange of information and knowledge, the joint organisation of events and training programs, the development of networks of common interest, and the transfer of knowledge to third parties.

This agreement reflects CAF’s commitment to innovation and its strategy to forge alliances with leading global players to mobilise knowledge, technology and best practices that contribute to a more inclusive and resilient development in Latin America and the Caribbean. For NTT DATA, this agreement represents an opportunity to apply its technological leadership to address key challenges in a region of vital importance.
