Breath for Life Facilitates Donation of 28,800 Masks to Concern America

IRVINE, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#COVIDBreath for Life, a non-profit organization formed by a consortium of medical and technical professionals and philanthropists, has facilitated a donation of more than 28,800 KN95 protective face masks to Concern America, a non-profit that transforms need into self-sufficiency by building capacity with communities in underserved regions globally to provide their own medical services.

The donation is part of Breath for Life’s ongoing initiative to address the increasing needs for respiratory products in developing nations and assist healthcare workers and physicians managing critically ill patients suffering from COVID-19.

Now celebrating its 50th year, Concern America’s unique and award-winning health care model trains members of developing communities to be their own health care providers, which has brought affordable and accessible health care to remote communities in Colombia, Mexico, Guatemala and other locations around the world.

“We are grateful to Breath for Life for its generous work to get us these masks at such a critical time in our planet’s history, with critical supplies such as protective masks needed more than ever,” said Catharine Quinn, Concern America’s Field Program Coordinator. “These important supplies will be put to good use and we are already in the process of shipping them out for distribution to some of the most remote locations in South and Central America, where masks have become challenging to come by.”

“Respiratory health is severely compromised by COVID-19 in patients who contract the virus and respond poorly,” said Bryan Liu, CEO of Telesair and co-founder of Breath for Life. “As the world is seeing a dramatic new surge of cases, putting caregivers and patients of all kinds at greater risk, we are honored to play a role in Concern America’s mission to equip and educate community health promoter practitioners in remote regions. It’s very gratifying to be able to assist in Concern America’s valiant efforts and make sure these masks protect the safety of caregivers and the communities in general.”

Liu added that Breath for Life is seeking additional non-profits and health-related organizations for further donations of masks and that interested parties in need of masks should contact Briani Allen at brianiallen@telesair.com.
