Investment in Southern Brazil expands logistics network and customer offerings.
SÃO PAULO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Emergent Cold Latin America (Emergent Cold LatAm or the Company), the fastest-growing refrigerated storage and logistics service provider in Latin America, announced today the acquisition of two temperature-controlled storage facilities located in the State of Rio Grande do Sul, in Southern Brazil. These assets were purchased from Reiter Log, a leading provider of logistics and transportation solutions for customers in the food supply chain.
This transaction represents an important expansion of the Company’s cold storage network into Southern Brazil. It includes a new 12,500-pallet facility in Nova Santa Rita, in the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre, the State’s capital, and a 2,500-pallet facility located in Passo Fundo. Both locations significantly enhance Emergent Cold LatAm’s domestic distribution capabilities, and they add to its roster of high-quality clients. The Nova Santa Rita site includes additional land for several future development projects.
With this purchase from Reiter Log, Emergent Cold LatAm now provides almost one million square meters of cold storage capacity in Brazil, along with blast freezing and other value-added services.
