BOSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–TÜV SÜD America Inc. today announced the acquisition of Ruby Canyon Environmental, Inc., and Ruby Canyon México S.A. de C.V., an independent Greenhouse Gas (GHG) accounting, reporting, and auditing company, located in Grand Junction, Colorado, and Mexico City, Mexico.
This acquisition will facilitate the growth of TÜV SÜD’s sustainability services under its Climate Action Certification (CAC) business and TÜV SÜD’s Green Energy & Sustainability strategy. The Americas Region is one of the largest energy markets in the world with an electricity consumption of 3.93 trillion kWh in the United States alone (US Energy Information Administration). Decarbonization of the energy sector has been defined as one of the most important challenges and priorities by the US government. In its Nationally Determined Contribution, the US has set a target of reducing emissions by 50%–52% below 2005 levels by 2030. With the acquisition of Ruby Canyon Environmental, TÜV SÜD will strengthen its position within the growing market of decarbonization and sustainability in the USA, Mexico, and South America.
