BELMOPAN, Belize – BELTRAIDE with support from the Central America Trade Office (CATO) and the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan), Belize participated in the Taiwan International Tea, Coffee, Wine and Food Industry Show held in Taipei, Taiwan from November 18-21.

This event is the annual industry trade show that attracts visitors and professionals from the Asia Pacific Area, including coffee shop owners, chain store buyers, distributors, and hoteliers.

Featured products in the coffee and tea show included products from Gallon Jug Coffee, Oxmul Coffee, Belize Chocolate Company, Mahogany Chocolate and Cheil Mayan Chocolate’s cacao teas and other cacao products. Kakawa joined the effort with their use of Belizean cacao, Marie sharp pepper sauce and Belizean rum in their chocolate creations.

The wine category included samples from Wine Time and Travellers liquor’s blackberry and cashew wines.

The Belize booth also included a cocktail bar that featured much sought-after samples from mixes using Belize rum such as Copalli, Coconut Rum, Old Masters and One Barrel and Five Barrel. The Belize booth experience was versatile and offered visitors a true taste of Belize.

Shahera McKoy, manager of the ExportBelize Unit, who represented BELTRAIDE, commented that “it is expected that the participation at this expo will bring the needed visibility to Belize’s nontraditional products. The Economic Cooperation Agreement (ECA) between Belize and Taiwan offers great opportunity for expanded trade and exposure at promotional events introduces our products to the Taiwanese market.” BELTRAIDE, CATO and the Embassy of Belize are all committed to follow-ups to ensure that Belize can solidify trade and other opportunities, presented by our participation in the show.

Ambassador Dr Candace Pitts visited the Belize booth and joined the effort to promote Belize, it’s goods and service and as a destination that offers a unique experience. The office of the prime minister and BELTRAIDE takes this opportunity to thank ambassador Pitts for her contributions and congratulate the Embassy for winning the 2022 Golden Merchants’ Award for the Most Outstanding Foreign Embassy in Taiwan.
