Publix Super Markets Charities Donates $3 Million to Housing and Shelter Programs Throughout the Southeast

LAKELAND, Fla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Publix Super Markets Charities (PSMC) is committed to building stronger communities through a $3 million donation to housing and shelter programs. The donation will support 121 Habitat for Humanity affiliates throughout the Southeast, including funding for a total of six full houses at six affiliates. In addition, 104 nonprofit organizations providing housing and shelter services will also receive funding.

“There are far too many individuals and families in our communities without roofs over their heads. We’re committed to helping them find the support they need to one day achieve the stability and independence that comes from having a place to call their own,” said PSMC Executive Director Kelly Williams-Puccio. “We’re honored to continue our support of organizations focused on housing and the well-being of our communities.”

“We’re incredibly grateful for Publix Super Markets Charities’ support of Habitat for Humanity affiliates throughout the Southeast,” said Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami Chief Executive Officer Mario Artecona. “Over the last couple of years, the lack of access to affordable housing has intensified due to the pandemic. But with Publix Charities’ generosity, we’re able to provide solid foundations for families through homeownership.”

PSMC began its support of Habitat for Humanity affiliates more than 30 years ago with its first contribution to Habitat for Humanity of East Polk County (Winter Haven, Florida). To learn more about PSMC’s efforts, please visit publixcharities.org/hope.
