BELLEVUE, Wash.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#Facts2020—USAFacts, a not-for-profit, nonpartisan civic initiative providing the most comprehensive and understandable single source of government data, is announcing the launch of its 2020 Voter Center. This resource provides Americans with an easy way to learn about this year’s candidates and their positions on a range of issues alongside government data about how the country is doing on those issues.
According to former Microsoft CEO and USAFacts Founder Steve Ballmer, “During a time when disinformation is common, our goal is to empower voters in the 2020 election with data-driven decision making. USAFacts’ Voter Center provides trusted government data alongside candidates’ positions and statements. It’s a way for voters to decide how the nation is doing and see what the candidates are saying. It’s a resource to vote with the facts.”
The 2020 Voter Center addresses the voter facts gap, allowing people to search candidates and issues by zip code. For instance, voters will be able to see the positions of candidates in their US Senate race alongside government data on how the country has or has not made progress on those issues.
“For too long, voters have been asked to choose a candidate based on adjectives or political party,” said USAFacts President Poppy MacDonald. “However, Americans tell us they want a nonpartisan, objective source that empowers voting based on the facts. What makes the USAFacts 2020 Voter Center unique is that we put candidate policy positions next to data on how the country is doing. Our goal is to empower voters to pick the candidate who will create positive change and track the country’s progress over time.”
As a one-stop-shop for information on the issues facing our country and being debated by candidates, the USAFacts 2020 Voter Center creates a digital resource that empowers users to:
- Explore candidate positions for the presidential race, plus House, Senate and gubernatorial races
- Visit pages of data on more than a dozen major issues
- Share candidates and issues on social media
- Access links to contact representatives
