OAS presents anti-corruption report

WASHINGTON, USA – The report shows the legal and institutional progress made and challenges facing member states in preventing and fighting corruption in areas including:

  • Government hiring
  • Public procurement
  • Whistleblower protection
  • Criminalization of acts of corruption
  • Training of public servants
  • Equitable compensation

With 923 actions that strengthen institutions and legal frameworks, member states continue making progress in addressing challenges to preventing and fighting corruption.

The MESICIC is the follow-up mechanism for the Implementation of the Inter-American Convention against corruption.

With 33 States Parties, its committee of experts has produced 145 country reports with recommendations to strengthen laws and institutions against corruption.
