The following also comprises attempts to reason DONE, gobsmacked ‘Daft!’ concluding with comments to CNG.

To: Melanius Alphonse, this is why your childish tantrum in your “editorial” failed!!
Let’s deal with what actually happened here. I stated one simple, verifiable fact:
Allen Chastanet attended the World Economic Forum in 2021. That is a FACT. And you responded with a multi-page meltdown, screaming “DONE,” trying to rewrite what Davos means, and throwing insults at anyone who refuses to pretend that fact doesn’t exist.
Your entire rant collapses on one basic truth you cannot escape:
- Chastanet was there !!
- He sat in those rooms !!
- He was vetted !!
- He was part of those conversations !!
That happened whether you like him or not.
Instead of dealing with that reality, you performed intellectual gymnastics, redefining “DONE,” redefining relevance, even redefining the World Economic Forum itself, all to avoid acknowledging something that makes your political side deeply uncomfortable.
You even mocked the idea that being at Davos means anything.
That move alone exposed you. Anyone who trivialises the World Economic Forum immediately disqualifies themselves from serious geopolitical or economic commentary.
You just exposed how clueless and out of your depth you are when writing on anything beyond the chicken and rum shop politics that passes for “analysis” in Saint Lucia.
The World Economic Forum is not Nestor’s Rum Shop. It is one of the most exclusive policy and financial networks on Earth. Governments, central banks, global CEOs, sovereign wealth funds, and multilateral institutions do not sit in those rooms for show.
And Allen Chastanet was invited as one of the few Caribbean leaders ever invited to speak.
That fact eats at you. Because deep down, this rage is not about Chastanet.
It’s about Philip Pierre, a man so provincially boxed in that he will never be invited to speak anywhere that actually matters. Not in Davos. Not in Washington. Not in global finance, geopolitics, or serious economic forums.
One man moves in global spaces. The other can barely manage speaking in local ones beyond rum shop political may-pwee on a Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP) platform.
He cannot even answer questions at a GOVERNMENT OF SAINT LUCIA press conference!
Chastanet is a man ahead of his time and ahead of the level at which most low-level Saint Lucians can think, understand, or operate.
You do not have to like him for that to be true. You just have to be honest! And perhaps that makes him unrelatable to a political environment that thrives on ignorance, insecurity, and small-island inferiority instead of excellence ~ St Lucian Patriot.
Attempts to reason DONE, gobsmacked ‘Daft!’
The above reply to CNG’s editorial reads the definition of attempts to below par reasoning DONE.
The editorial has so far gobsmacked ‘Daft’ on one hand, and on the other hand, further amplifies the ostensible applicable to DONE and ascribes daft!
The Facebook response is seemingly a calculated circumvention to attempt reasoning DONE, and perchance points to psychosis. It encapsulates why, and wherefores of the second United Workers Party (UWP) defeat at the hands of Philip J. Pierre.
This compounds an extensive phone call Saturday evening from a UWP financier, following the publication, why the UWP is at its low ebb, with “ so-called influencers” that are DONE and daft!
The debasement of thoughtful comprehension and understanding also encapsulates why the lack of knowledge transfer and uncommon experiences have diluted the UWP brand of the ages; classic and historic.
“What do you expect? That’s how they are, sad but true,” said the UWP financier, unable to console the present below-par UWP!
The UWP financier added: “Whatever the wants and needs are, of attempts to reason DONE, remains a very strong factor not ingrained in the circumference of a circle, the perimeter of the circle, and certainly, not knowing the distance around the circle.”
Inexcusable, the political knowledge is ‘daft’ to the actuality of politics and Saint Lucia’s political life. Winning is the designated result! And doing what is required must be front and centre in a ground game, both visible and invisible. Not Illusion!
The gymnastics of escaping reality of a failed politician pronounced DONE is designated, “Finished, through, or over — it’s no longer happening.” And in the synonym of DONE – “Successfully completed a task and/or are proud of finishing something on your to-do list.” ~ That’s a fact!
The current UWP is a degraded brand of the UWP of the ages! ~That’s a fact!
And the incongruent functionality as a political party was humiliated twice over! ~ That’s a fact!
Politics is about winning! “After all, victory is achieved through assertion that is skilful and effective, rather than reckless or impotent.”

“The son of a rich father who rose to the highest office of the land, whose major interest was about promoting his title as PM rather than looking after the interests of the people. He was busy doing this through his abundant useless travels. Davos is another key example, even though he is the opposition leader.” ~ UWP stalwart of the ages.
